Uncle Roddus Album Of The Day
I actually managed to pick up this CD at my local CD store recently, which is unusual as not that much Zorn actually turns up here and I usually import it from Amazon.
This set involves a sextet of mostly regular Zorn musicians and the music is dominated by piano, Vibes and Harp, with some occasional guitar parts from Marc Ribot. I have been really enjoying this CD of some of Zorn's most accessible music. A mostly contemporary Jazz set and played pretty straight, no avant-garde freakouts and other weirdness in this music. Rating 4/5
